For the FIFTH year in a row, I am thrilled to once again host my pet event: Sundance for friends and family at Fishbein’s Filmhaüs!
Since Sundance launched its streaming option, I’ve made it a tradition to bring the indie magic home—sharing the festival experience FREE with friends and family right here in Tucson. This is a private friends-and-family event to enjoy Sundance films together in a home setting, as they were intended…but this isn’t just a watch party; it’s a celebration of creativity and storytelling, curated for my local film-loving friends.
Join me on January 31, 2026, for a day packed with shorts, features, and good company. Doors open at 12:00 p.m., and we’ll keep the screens glowing until midnight-ish. Pop in, grab a seat, and let’s make it another memorable year of cinematic magic.

FAQ:
Where should I park? We own the empty lot next door. Park there. Mind the sand dunes…
Will there be grub? Potluck style! We’ll be grillin’ and smokin’ plentiful proteins, but bring salads (mac, potato, leafy), BBQ sides, cakey desserts, etc.
Can I get wasted? BYOB and smokables if you partake. No heroin allowed.
If I can only come for 4 hours, when should I target? Arrive at 4:00 pm halfway through the second block of Shorts, be there for some potlucking, and catch the Main Feature.
Note to Guests on Private Screening Etiquette
Thank you for joining this year’s Sundance Filmhaus! This is a private, invite-only gathering designed to enjoy Sundance films together in the way they were meant to be experienced; intimately, with friends and family, in a cozy home setting. To respect the incredible work of the filmmakers and the Sundance Institute’s guidelines, I kindly ask everyone to follow a few simple rules:
No Recording or Sharing: Please do not record, photograph, or share any part of the films or their material, whether in person, online, or through social media.
Social Media Etiquette: Feel free to share your excitement about the event, but please avoid posting pictures or videos that contain any visuals from the films.
Private Event: This is a small, personal gathering, not a public or commercial screening, so please refrain from inviting others who aren’t on the guest list.
What I’m Doing to Ensure This Event Aligns with Sundance’s Policies
Invite-Only Gathering: Attendance is limited to close friends and family, ensuring this remains a private, non-public event.
Non-Commercial Setting: The event is hosted in a home environment with no admission fees, donations, or commercial promotion.
No Film Links Shared: Films will only be streamed onsite, and no viewing links will be distributed to attendees.
Respecting Copyright: All attendees are reminded not to record or distribute any part of the films, and no rebroadcasting or live-streaming will occur.
Appropriate Social Media Practices: I encourage everyone to focus on sharing memories of the atmosphere and gathering, without including visuals or content from the films.
By following these practices, we can celebrate independent cinema while honoring the hard work and livelihoods of the filmmakers. Thank you for helping make this a respectful and memorable tradition for everyone. Looking forward to seeing you there! 🎥✨
